This is the term that my brothers and I used for a joke when "you had to be there".
Tonight was KOZY (Knitters and Other Zany about Yarn) Group night. I got to go. I LOVE this group of women. They are loud, they are funny, they are sweet and compassionate. We knit a little and laugh a lot. They tell wildly off color jokes and support each other through everything.
And tonight we laughed so hard my cheeks hurt. But I know good and damn well that if I tried to repeat the jokes here, you'd never get it. You truly had to be there.
And I'm so glad that I was there.
I don't have a lot of friends that I do things with, so I really value the few social things that I do. I choose very carefully what I do with my time and who I spend it with. You have to when you are the parent of young children, because you have so little free time.
It's been just over a year that I've been knitting. I taught myself from a book in February of last year. Now I am VERY into knitting, although I do still sometimes crochet. I love cabling, and I plan to learn entrelac later this month just because I think it's gorgeous! I like having hobbies to do that are creative and give me something to do with my hands while we watch television.
There are always more projects that I want to do then I have time or budget for.
Which is good... because I plan to be at this for a while! And now, I'm going to get back to it!

Hey Kristen,
Did you teach yourself from Knitting for Dummies? I copy edited that book a while back, and wonder what you thought of it (if that's the one you used).
